Public speaking - courses and programs for individuals and organisations |
|
As part of presentation skills training, Derek Stockley offers three public speaking training options for all staff levels, including a Public Speaking Course in Melbourne. Training is suitable for sales and marketing staff, team leaders and managers - in fact - anyone required to speak regularly in public. |
Introduction |
Fear of public speakingMany people have a fear of public speaking - the requirement to stand and deliver a speech in public, whether at a small private function like a wedding or a large public gathering. The skill to speak in public can be developed through good coaching and training. Often, for many people, public speaking is an essential business skill. Public speaking courses can be conducted for participants from the business, government, not-for-profit and community sectors. Although needs can vary, the most common public speaking topics are manner and method; use of humour; and voice and movement. Some speakers use pure speech, others uses aids and technology e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint. Delivery is one aspect. Design and preparation is another. Examples of topics include: How to have an impact
