Overview of Professional Development Program

This program is designed for participants who want to develop and refine their training competencies. It is specifically designed for those who have had some "formal" train the trainer participation.

The need for further training could have been precipitated by a variety of factors:

An absence from training activities in recent times.
A new initiative requiring extensive employee or staff training.
Moving into a new field of operation.
A situation requiring a different training approach and style.
Further professional development requirements.
The need for more practical training experience.
The desire to ensure that training skills are current and "leading edge".

Whatever the reason, this program offers the opportunity to practice and refine training skills.

The program involves both pre and post course work. Derek will work with each participant prior to the training. Each participant will prepare a practice training session for presentation on the day. This session will be reviewed by Derek and other participants. The remainder of the day will be spent reviewing key training techniques and strategies. Each participant will have a personal development plan for individual study after the day.

The program involves attendance on one training day. Additional research and training session preparation is required before the training day. This blended learning approach provides additional opportunities for participant knowledge development.

Derek Stockley has over 25 years experience as a trainer, consultant and manager. Derek presents needs based programs that draw on his own extensive experience as well as the background and experience of the participants. His programs are practical, combining essential concepts with real learning that can be implemented immediately.

Derek has trained hundreds of people in training techniques. With a passion for helping others develop and learn, he actively demonstrates his practical, needs based training approach.

He conducts training programs designed to improve individual and organisational performance.

In addition, he has a good understanding of the organisational issues that apply in a wide variety of industries. A training needs analysis project cannot be considered as stand alone – it relates to many aspects of organisational development.

Derek talks specifically about the projects and issues of participants. As far as is possible, you will spend time discussing real issues, problems and challenges that you face.

Because of his extensive experience, participants receive specific instruction on the issues related to their particular organisational situation.
